GOLD AND SILVER LEAF

Artist Statement - My series of gold leaf paintings are inspired by Japanese screens and the elegance and bold design they embody. I create a luminous and reflective surface by using a layer of tissue thin composition metal or silver leaf affixed to wood panels. I capture the movement, gesture and whimsy of my subjects using fluid, graceful lines and spare compositions.
